In a lively celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary of independence, President Donald Trump took center stage at the IndyCar Freedom 250 in Washington, DC. He had the honor of officially opening the race by waving the green flag and even participated in a ceremonial lap around the temporary 1.7-mile street circuit in the presidential limousine, famously known as “The Beast.”
The event, which marked a significant motorsport occasion on the streets of the US capital, required extensive logistical preparations. More than 200 manhole covers along the race route were secured, and measures were put in place to protect nearby museums, monuments, and public infrastructure from potential vibrations and disruptions.
