During a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, Xi highlighted the importance of building relations based on cooperation, moderate competition, and manageable differences.
Xi stressed that mutual benefits can be achieved through practical cooperation, while disagreements should be addressed through dialogue and mutual respect. He underscored the significance of stable economic and trade relations, urging both countries to expand areas of cooperation and work towards reducing outstanding issues.
The two leaders also discussed the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, recognizing the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation in this area. Xi emphasized the need for responsible development of AI and the prevention of its misuse and abuse.
In addition to trade and technology, Xi and Trump exchanged views on major international and regional issues, including the Middle East, Ukraine, and the Korean Peninsula. They confirmed that China and the United States would support each other in hosting major international summits in 2026, further enhancing bilateral cooperation.
