Rhombus Introduces Cloud-Managed Single-Door Access Control Controller

Must read

Rhombus has introduced the DC10 Single-Door Controller, a compact and cloud-managed solution aimed at enhancing access control and sensor connectivity for individual door environments. This new controller integrates directly with Rhombus’s cloud-based access control and security platform, facilitating remote management of doors, lockdown capabilities, and interaction with various smart sensors.

The DC10 is designed to meet the needs of locations where a multi-door controller may not be practical, such as offices, retail stores, restaurants, gyms, and isolated entrances. Its compact form factor includes features like one wet/dry relay, one dry auxiliary relay, and four inputs that can be supervised or unsupervised for functions such as request-to-exit and door position monitoring. The controller’s IK08-rated, plenum-mountable design allows installation in tight spaces, including above drop ceilings near protected doors.

The device supports 90 W PoE++ and PoE passthrough, enabling both power and connectivity through a single cable, with the capability to support a nearby camera. Additionally, the DC10 provides built-in connectivity for Rhombus environmental, intrusion, and motion sensors, as well as panic buttons, offering a line-of-sight range of up to 100 meters.

Equipped with Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, the DC10 is engineered to maintain cloud access, allowing operators to manage doors remotely without needing an on-site server. This solution is designed to extend cloud-based access control to smaller or distributed locations while simplifying installation and infrastructure requirements.
