Additionally, another service member lost their life in northern Iraq during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance, as authorities investigate the remains of a potential fourth victim found in Jordan.
The U.S. military has conducted ten consecutive waves of strikes against Iranian targets, prompting Iran to threaten retaliation against regional allies aiding American military efforts. Democratic lawmakers have criticized Trump’s handling of the situation, with Senator Chris Murphy expressing concerns over the rapidly deteriorating conditions. House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries labeled the military campaign as a costly and unnecessary war that endangers American troops. Several Democrats, including Senators Mark Warner and Chris Van Hollen, are demanding an immediate cessation of hostilities and insist that the administration seek congressional approval for any further military actions.
