US Delays Iran Strikes at Saudi, UAE’s Request; Army on Alert

Must read

The United States has temporarily postponed its planned military action against Iran, originally scheduled for Tuesday, following a request from the leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. President Donald Trump announced this decision on Monday, saying that the Gulf leaders assured him of ongoing serious negotiations with Iran, raising the hope of reaching a satisfactory agreement.

President Trump shared on Truth Social that the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and the UAE President, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, requested the delay in the military strike. They expressed confidence that a deal could be achieved, which would not only be beneficial for the United States but also for countries throughout the Middle East. Trump’s message emphasized a critical component of the potential deal: Iran must commit to not developing nuclear weapons.

Out of respect for these Middle Eastern leaders, Trump has directed U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and General Daniel Caine, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to hold off the planned attack. However, he also instructed them to be ready for a full-scale military engagement with Iran if the negotiations do not lead to an acceptable agreement. The President’s statement underscored the urgency and seriousness with which the U.S. is approaching this situation.

Meanwhile, Iran recently submitted a revised 14-point proposal to the United States through Pakistani mediators. However, according to reports, the new proposal was deemed insufficient by the U.S. A senior American official warned that if Iran does not alter its stance on its nuclear program, the U.S. might resort to military action, although this is considered a regrettable outcome. The official pointed out that while Iran’s proposal included some changes, it still reflected Tehran’s concerns over potential U.S. military moves.

This development comes amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East and highlights the fragile nature of diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict. The U.S. remains on alert, prepared to escalate militarily if diplomatic solutions fall short, as the international community watches closely for the next steps in this high-stakes negotiation.
