Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., headquartered in Yokohama, Japan, and LiCAP Technologies, Inc., a U.S.-based innovator in sustainable electrode manufacturing, have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the development and industrialization of dry cathode electrode processes for Nissan’s all-solid-state batteries (ASSB).
This collaboration builds upon a successful joint research program and focuses on scaling LiCAP’s proprietary Activated Dry Electrode® platform, a solvent-free process that reduces environmental impact while improving cost efficiency, productivity, and performance compared to conventional electrode manufacturing.
“We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with Nissan in pioneering advanced dry electrode technologies that are crucial for global EV production,” said Dr. Linda Zhong, CEO of LiCAP Technologies.
The alliance represents a pivotal step in supporting Nissan’s Ambition 2030 vision, driving sustainable innovation in energy storage and enabling the next generation of high-performance, affordable electric vehicles.
